What is bonding?

Dental bonding, a type of cosmetic procedure, is designed to correct minor imperfections on the front teeth. The procedure is noninvasive and requires little to no anesthesia. Bonding uses composite resin to evenly blend the teeth to cover stains, discoloration, chips, cracks, and uneven spacing. We have a range of shades to match the shade of your existing teeth.

Why is bonding needed?

You might be considering dental bonding because you are looking for a noninvasive way to improve the look of your smile. We can help determine if bonding is the right option for you. Some of the reasons you might be considering bonding include:

  • Cracked teeth
  • Chipped teeth
  • Spaces between teeth
  • Uneven teeth
  • Discoloration and staining

I highly recommend family dental in Biddeford, me. I’ve always been very nervous about going to get dental work done. Here it’s been a pleasant and pain free experience.

What makes you a good candidate for Dental Bonding?

A thorough examination will be done to determine if dental bonding is right for you. Bonding typically requires little to no anesthetic, so it is a safe choice for most patients. If you are unhappy with your smile and want a quick, long-lasting way to completely transform your front teeth, bonding is a viable choice. The procedure is done right in our office, quickly and efficiently.

What happens during the procedure for bonding?

Your teeth are first lightly buffed to help the composite resin material adhere. The teeth are thoroughly cleaned and dried, once dry a bonding agent is applied and cured using a specialized curing light. The composite resin is then applied to the tooth, smoothed into place and cured until hard.                  Dr Mallipeddi will then shape and smooth any rough edges, so the bonding mimics your natural teeth.
